Pride & Perfection
A Bible study contrasting our tendency towards pride vs. God's perfection
"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife." {Jane Austen, the opening line of Pride & Prejudice} OH, WAIT. That's not what we're doing here. 😉 But we're DEFINITELY going to be making a few nods to one of our favorite books this month. Pride is a such an enormous sin - and it's one of the things that the Bible warns us against over & over again. (We'll be talking about why in the Bible study, of course.)
There's an adjustment in our title, though - it's Pride & Perfection, which might be a bit confusing at first glance. The reason I chose that title is to contrast God's perfection with our pride. He's literally the ONLY being who is perfect, the only one who has actual reason to be proud; yet we know the person of Jesus was "gentle and lowly in spirit." The steadfast love and perfect compassion we continually receive from the Father, Son, and & Holy Spirit should always humble us.
We look forward to quoting Jane Austen a few times, but mostly quoting the very best book of all, the Bible. 😉💙📖 Join us (and get $2 off the monthly themed T-shirt!)

Welcome! Our Christian lifestyle blog - www.theruffledmango.com - was launched in the summer of 2015, to fill a niche of speaking the truth in love. We want to encourage women to identify what the Bible really says, and then confidently step into their God-given roles, glorifying Him as we pass through this life. Our site has slowly evolved, with the feedback from our precious readers, to offering much more Bible study materials, such as our monthly scripture writing plans (offered for free on the blog). We also have created several physical products, such as our Faith Planner, scripture writing calendar, greeting cards, and printables (which you can find in our Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheRuffledMango) The five of us also enjoy creating online Bible studies, which are all housed here in our Teachable school.
